From my sketchbook – Autumn Maple

The maples at Dad’s home never disappoint. It’s fun to try to mimic nature with watercolors.

      • Ellen, I was in a doctor’s office this morning and the only magazine of interest was a SC Wildlife from Jan-Feb.2019. There you were! Amazing, cause Clay and I lived in Statesville when you were little, and we love your family. Your artwork is wonderful…I am a painter, too. We live between our retirement home in Marion, NC and our other home in Spartanburg. We’d love to hear from you. Jane and Clay Turner

      • Hello Jane and Clay! I’m so sorry to be finding your comment only now. A whole month later! I’d love to see your work. Please contact me at so we can chat further. I am in the process of changing out my website so these pages will be replaced before too long. Margaret, Carol, and I chatted with Clay after Daddy died, and he generously guided us on the service, which was beautiful and very well-attended (considering he had buried all his friends…). Dad and Mom loved you both and we do too.
